Privacy policy

The short version

• Your overlays, alerts, commands, viewer notes and history stay on your computer.
• Sign-in tokens for Twitch, YouTube and Kick are kept in your operating system’s keychain.
• Our relay does three jobs: it receives Kick events, handles Kick sign-in, and hosts tip pages.
• Kick events (including chat) and tip notices wait on the relay only while your app is offline, for up to 7 days, and are then deleted. Nothing else from your stream is kept.
• Payment details stay with the payment provider. We never see card or UPI details.
• This website has no analytics, no tracking cookies and no third-party scripts.

The desktop app

The app runs on your computer. Everything it stores (settings, overlays, alert rules, media, commands, the event log, viewer notes and tip history) is saved in a database on your own disk. We cannot see it. You can export it or delete it at any time.

When you connect Twitch, YouTube or Kick, you sign in on the platform’s own website. The access tokens the platform gives back are stored in your operating system’s keychain, never in plain files, exports or logs. The app talks to Twitch and YouTube directly from your computer.

The app checks for updates by downloading a public release list. That request includes your IP address and the app version, as any download does. We do not attach an identifier to it.

YouTube

Ferrocast uses YouTube API Services. When you connect YouTube, the app reads your live chat and stream events and carries out the moderation actions you choose, all from your computer. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect in Settings → Accounts, or revoke Ferrocast’s access at any time on your Google account permissions page.

The Ferrocast relay

Some things can only reach a public address on the internet, so we run a small relay. It does three jobs:

• Kick events. Kick sends follows, subs, chat messages and similar events only to a public address. The relay checks each one is really from Kick and forwards it to your app straight away. If your app is offline, events wait in a queue for up to 7 days and are then deleted. Once delivered, they are gone from the relay.
• Kick sign-in. Kick’s sign-in needs a secret key that cannot ship inside an app, so the relay holds it. When you sign in to Kick, and when your sign-in is refreshed, your Kick tokens pass through the relay on their way to your app. They are not stored there.
• Tip pages. The relay serves your tip page and receives payment notices from Razorpay, Stripe or Ko-fi. See the next section for exactly what that involves.

The relay also keeps short technical logs (time, request type, an account id, IP address and errors) for up to 14 days to keep the service working and safe. These logs never contain chat text, tip messages or a tipper’s contact details.

Tip pages

Your tip page shows the display name you choose. Your legal name is never shown on your tip page or in your alerts. The payment provider’s checkout and receipt show the name on your provider account, so use a business or brand name there if you want to keep your own name private.

When a viewer tips, the tip page server receives:

• their IP address, as any website does;
• the name they choose to show, their message and the amount;
• the payment status from the provider, which may include the payer’s email address or phone number. We use these only to match the payment to the tip.

Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the provider’s own checkout and never reach us. The tip notice is forwarded to your app and deleted from the relay once delivered, or after 7 days if your app stays offline. The payer’s email address and phone number are never forwarded to you and are deleted with the notice.

Ferrocast Pro

Pro is not on sale yet. When it is, we will need an email address for your account and will receive billing records from Razorpay (what you bought, when, and the payment status, not your card or UPI details). Pro features that sync your setup will store a copy of it on our servers, encrypted in transit and at rest, and only while you use them. This policy will be updated with the details before Pro launches.

This website

ferrocast.clearcraftlabs.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: fonts and images are served from the same address. It stores one setting in your browser, your light or dark theme choice, which never leaves your device. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, page, time) for security, for a short period.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share data only with the services needed to run what you ask for (hosting for the relay, Razorpay for Pro payments) or when the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw consent at any time. Users in India have these rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; users in the EU and UK have them under the GDPR. Write to privacy@clearcraftlabs.com and we will answer within 3 working days and act within 30 days.

Age

Ferrocast’s hosted services (the relay, tip pages and Pro) are for people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, you may use them only with the consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who agrees to this policy for you. We do not knowingly process a child’s data without that consent. Streaming platforms also set their own age limits.
